Dr. Erin Sweeney attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Education. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine (Columbus, OH).
Dr. Sweeney worked at a local animal shelter throughout veterinary school and remains very active in local rescue organizations. She operates her own 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue (Because of Mac Animal Rescue), which she founded in 2009. Her interests include shelter medicine,veterinary forensics, behavior, human-animal bond, neonatal medicine, equine medicine, and wildlife rehabilitation. She currently resides in Oakley, Ohio with her husband, many dogs, a cat, and a horse.
